چکیده

The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) facility at Brookhaven National Laboratory is the first accelerator specifically constructed for the study of very hot and dense nuclear matter. At sufficiently high temperature, nuclear matter is expected to undergo a phase transition to a quark-gluon plasma. It is the specific goal of the field to study the nature of this plasma and understand the phase transitions between different states. The RHIC accelerator along with four experiments BRAHMS, PHENIX, PHOBOS, and STAR were commissioned last year with first collisions occurring in June 2000. Presented here are the first results from low luminosity beam in Run I. They are a glimpse of the wealth of physics to be extracted from the RHIC program over the next several years.

New results on φ-meson production and elliptic flow v 2 measurements from RHIC 2004 run (Run-IV) have been reviewed. In addition, the di-hadron correlation function between the trigged φ and Ω and the associated soft particles was simulated. Knowledge about these results are discussed.

We present the directed flow measurement (v 1) from Au+Au collisions at √ s NN = 62 GeV. Over the pseudorapidity range we have studied, which covers η from −1.2 to 1.2 and 2.4 < |η| < 4, v 1 is found increasing monotonously with pseudorapidity in all centralities. No " v 1 wiggle " is observed at midrapidity as predicted by various theoretical models. Elliptic flow (v 2) from moderate high p t ...

The PHENIX detector at RHIC measured high p T identified hadron ratios in √ s N N = 200 GeV Au+Au collisions. Within the current systematic and statistical errors, p/p ratios that are measured up to 3.8 GeV/c are almost independent of both p T and centrality. The baryon to meson ratio is measured through p/π and p/π ratios up to 3.8 GeV/c, showing they are strongly centrality dependent.

This paper presents results of elliptic flow measurements at moderate high transverse momentum in Au+Au collisions using the STAR detector at RHIC. Sizable v 2 is found up to 7 GeV/c in transverse momentum. Non-flow effects are discussed comparing correlations in p+p collisions and Au+Au collisions. v 2 from two-, four-and six-particle cumulant are shown and discussed.
